Fracture Mechanic Analysis and Fatigue Crack Growth in Pressure Vessels and Piping
This course aims to describe procedures used to analyze fracture mechanic and assessment methods used in industries. A hand calculation method besides a finite element analysis approach will be utilized to perform crack analysis. In addition to academic approaches to be discussed in this course, “Failure Assessment Diagram” (FAD) method will also be presented. Fatigue crack growth in accordance with “Paris Method” and other similar approaches to calculate the allowable number of cycles will be evaluated.
