Consulting Services: Nuclear Pressure Vessel & Piping Design

One of ACE consulting services is designing of nuclear pressure vessels and piping systems based on ASME Section III. Analyses performed take into account the mechanical loads applied to pressure vessels and more complicated loading conditions requiring in-depth analysis (including pressurized thermal shocks, dynamic loads, etc.). The scope of services is as follows:

• Develops engineering documents such as design specifications

• Performs stress analysis for nuclear pressure vessels and nuclear piping systems based on ASME Section III Subsection NB/ NC/ ND 

• Mechanical Design of PWR Reactor Coolant System (Primray Loop)

• Reviews design report and compliance with design specification

• Checks input data, calculations, results, and makes needed recommendations

• Designs pressure vessel supports based on ASME Sec. III Subsection NF

• Designs nuclear pipe support based on ASME Section III Subsection NF and several nuclear design criteria

• Derives Pressure Temperature Limit Curve for Primary Loop

• Conducts fatigue analysis based on ASME Sec. III Subsection NB/ NC

• Conducts fracture analysis of pressure vessel based on ASME Sec. III 

• Analyzes pipe support effects on nuclear piping

• Nuclear piping vibration analysis with “Pi-Vi Assessment Tool” (Nuclear Module Developed by ACE Co.)

• Performs non-linear analysis of nuclear piping based on ASME Sec. III

• Sets support location for nuclear piping

• Evaluates seismic response spectrum analysis

• Performs nuclear piping seismic

• Develops nuclear piping design criteria (Support, FEM Criteria, etc.)

• Establishes reliability and functionality of piping systems

• Sets a simplified seismic analysis method for piping structures

• Leak before analysis of high energy pipe lines (limited)

• Conducts high level of detail needed to analyze accurately to predict component stresses and solve existent problems
